Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Guardian Angel Staffing is interviewing Certified Medication Aides (CMA) for both Full Time and Part Time Employment opportunities for a local Long Term Care Facility in the Wilmore, Kentucky Area.

THIS IS NOT A TRAVEL ASSIGNMENT.

Candidates must have a strong work history with minimal gaps in their employment, these are floor positions in a long term care facility.

Part Time requires a minimum of two days per week.

Requirements Include But Not Limited To:
1. Active CMA license on Kentucky Board of Nursing in good standing
2. CPR Card
3. TB Skin Test and/or Chest X-Ray
4. College Diploma, High School Diploma or GED
5. Pass Fingerprint/AOC Background and Drug Screening
6. Comply with Covid-19 Policy and Procedures
7. Current experience within the last year that can be verified working in a long term care facility or a hospital taking care of a team of patients.

JOB SUMMARY:
1. Performs delegated duties in medication administration, treatment and care of patients/residents under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse; and performs other duties as required.
2. Prepares, administers and charts medications and treatments within the scope of their pratice.
3. Performs medical treatments under supervision of a licensed nurse.
4. Takes temperatures, blood pressures, oxygen saturations, and respirations and records on patients chart.
5. Participates in treatment meetings.
6. Provides first aid for minor injuries.
7. Accepts and accounts for drugs and related paraphernalia.
8. Attends in-service training programs.
9. Reports unusual incidents with staff or patients to a licensed nurse.
10. Participates in drills for and responds to facility emergencies.
11. Assists residents in personal hygiene such as bathing, dental, and oral care, hair and nail care.
12. Observes and reports skin breakdown.
13. Assists residents with bowel and bladder functions by taking them to restrooms, providing bedpans or portable commodes, and performing catheter care.
14. Collects, labels and records sputum, urine, or stool specimens for laboratory analysis,
15. Changes transports soiled and contaminated linens.
16. Assists resident in dressing and undressing.
17. Turns and repositions physically dependent residents to maintain comfort and relieve pressure every two hours per facility protocol.
18. Aids residents in preparation for activities and programs within and outside the center.
19. Assists residents in transferring by lifting them manually or by mechanical lifts as needed.
20. Records residents’ food and fluid intake, bowel movements and urine output.
21. Accepts work in a neighborhood as assigned per shifts as necessary to maintain optimal staffing levels.

Essential Demands:
º Physical: Able to do much walking and standing; varied body motions- reaching, stooping, turning, stretching, pushing, handling and manipulating various instruments and equipment; lifts; audio and visual acuity; physical dexterity; ability to speak clearly; neat and clean appearance; works inside.
º Mental: Emotional stability to meet demands of position and during stress emergency situations; alertness and adaptability to change in situations; good memory; patience, tact and understanding; organization of varied activities; ability to listen; capable of good judgement

Certified Medication Aide (CMA) @ $35-$36/hr

AVAILABLE SHIFTS: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am, 7am-7pm & 7pm-7am must be able to work weekends
